Prerequisites

Before diving into the setup, make sure you have the following:

  • User Role: You must be a leader or admin in Echo AI to create Slack alerts.

  • Slack Integration: Verify that your Echo AI workspace is integrated with Slack. You can find more details in our Slack Integration article.

Creating the Slack Alert

  1. Start with a Saved Search: To set up an alert, you first need to have a saved search. This can either be a new Saved Search or you can use an existing one. This search serves as the trigger for your Slack alert. Please read our Saved Searches article for more information.

    1. Creating a New Saved Search:

      1. Navigate to your conversations in Echo AI.

      2. Apply filters that match the criteria for conversations you want to monitor (e.g., specific topics, keywords, or customer segments).

      3. Click on save search at the top to create the saved search.

      4. Enter a name for the search and select the visibility.

    2. Using an Existing Saved Search:

      1. If you already have a relevant Saved Search, you can go to your conversations and select it from the list of Saved Searches on the left.

      2. At the top next to the Saved Search name, click on the three dots for Saved Search options and select Edit Search.

  2. Choose the Slack Channel:

    1. If the Slack integration is properly set up, you should see a dropdown or selection box showing integrated Slack channels.

    2. Select the channel where you want the alert notifications to be sent.

  3. Configure and Save:

    1. Confirm your selection and click Save to finalize the setup.

With the alert configured, Echo AI will now send a message to the designated Slack channel whenever a new conversation matches the criteria defined in your saved search.
